Connectors for keyboard Wrong Empty
PostSubject: Connectors for keyboard Wrong   Connectors for keyboard Wrong EmptyTue Jul 24, 2012 12:53 pm

I have a dv7-4170us

I recently had a problem with the bracket that allows the lid to open and close, so I took apart the laptop to

see if I could fix it. In the process, i had to basically take apart the entire computer. I took off the

HP DV Series Keyboard and the top

panel, but in the process of taking off the front panel and keyboard, I had to disconnect a few things from the

motherboard. T

he connector is a black piece that twists upward to allow the ribbon-style cable to release. The black piece

was very difficult to twist upward, and two of the four that I had to remove ended up breaking. The black

pieces are no longer attached, so the cables are no longer secured. I tried to tape them there in the right

spot, but the fingerprint reader will not work at all, and half of the

HP DV Series Keyboard isn't working,

so I can't do anything with the laptop. I have no clue what to do here. I don't know if there is a way to

replace the black pieces, or if I'm just screwed. Any help would be great

Thanks,

Ken
